The University of Glasgow's first Public Engagement Conference 

Wednesday 24th August, 9.15-3.00pm in the Sir Charles Wilson Building.

The conference was held as part of a Research Councils UK initiative to embed a culture of engagement around research within the University of Glasgow.

A: Pathways to Impact

Looking at how you plan your impact. This session will look at this topic from three angles: Pathways to Impact in grants (Dr Jenni Chambers, RCUK), Mapping your Impact journey (Rose-Marie Barbeau, Impact Manager) and the Research to Impact (Professor Kevin O'Dell, Dean of Public Engagement)



Corrigendum: Sadly there is no 3million £ per annum public engagement budget! Entirely my drawing error, it is substantially smaller.


B: Enhancing Research through Engagement
This session will explore how engagement can enhance research.  With examples from each of the four Colleges will show how external engagement has led to stronger research outputs.

C: Evaluating Public Engagement

This insight session by Ben Gammon will give you some tips for evaluating your engagement by looking at how you can plan for and capture the information you require to demonstrate an impact.


 
D: Meet the Partners
This session invites our local engagement partners to introduce themselves giving short presentations on who they are and how researchers can work with them. Speakers include: Glasgow LifeCafé SciThe HunterianGlasgow Science FestivalGlasgow Science Centre and Glasgow & Edinburgh Skeptics.
